Knowledge and Information Science encompasses several fundamental categories, one of which is Knowledge itself, along with its associated topics such as philosophical, educational, sociological, economical, and psychological foundations. These foundations revolve around the creation, provision, organization, sharing, and management of science, data, information, and knowledge.

Therefore, the objective of the Journal of Knowledge-Research Studies is to publish content related to these issues using an interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary, international, and open access approach. Based on this approach the journal allows for immediate free access to the articles and permits any user to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of articles, crawl them for indexing, pass them as data to software, or use them for any other lawful purpose.

In this journal, articles will be published on various subjects including philosophy, sociology, economics, psychology, as well as technical aspects pertaining to data, information, knowledge, and science.

The main themes covered in articles submitted to the Journal Knowledge-Research Studies include: Historical, Economic, Educational, Psychological, Sociological, Anthropological, Computerized, Philosophical, Theoretical, and Technological Dimensions of Data, Information, Knowledge, Wisdom and Science Studies.

Professors, researchers, and students in fields such as Information Science, Scientometrics, Sociology, History, Economics, Philosophy, Computer Science, Engineering (in various disciplines), Science, Management, and Engineering of information technology, along with other relevant fields, are welcome to submit their articles to this journal.

Please note that this Journal has been published electronically on a quarterly basis since 2022. The publication has obtained necessary permits from the University of Tabriz Commission for Policymaking, Monitoring and Promotion of Scientific Journals, as well as the respected press supervision board of the Iran Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance.

The Journal of Knowledge-Research Studies has received a A ranking in the 2023 evaluation by Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology in Iran.  The Journal of Knowledge-Research Studies has been published since December 2024 with the scientific and intellectual support of the Iranian Science Promotion Association. This support is based on a memorandum of understanding signed between the Iranian Science Promotion Association and the Vice President for Research and Technology of the University of Tabriz.
