چکیده

هدف: هدف این پژوهش کشف نقش خدمات و کارکردها کتابخانه­های عمومی در توسعه اقتصادی جامعه از دیدگاه کتابداران و مدیران کتابخانه­های عمومی بود.
روش‌شناسی­: پژوهش حاضر از نوع طرح‌های پژوهش کمی است و به‌صورت پیمایشی انجام شده است. جامعه آماری این پژوهش را  مدیران و کتابداران کتابخانه­های عمومی مراکز استان که تجربه و تخصص کافی در حوزه کتابخانه­های عمومی داشتند، تشکیل می دهند. جامعه آماری 1900 نفر برآورد شد که با استفاده از فرمول نمونه­گیری کوکران 319 نفر به‌عنوان نمونه مشخص شدند. جهت گردآوری داده­ها از ابزار  پرسشنامه‌ محقق ساخته استفاده شد. برای سنجش روایی و پایایی پرسشنامه، از روایی محتوایی و همچنین برای تعیین پایایی از روش آلفای کرونباخ استفاده شد، ضریب آلفای کرونباخ برای همه مؤلفه­ها و کل پرسشنامه بیش از 80/0 به دست آمده که حاکی از پایایی قابل‌قبول پرسشنامه مذکور بود. تمامی روند تجزیه‌وتحلیل داده­های پژوهش حاضر در نرم­افزارهای آماری SPSS و معادلات ساختاری PLS Smart انجام گرفت.
یافته­ها: یافته­های پژوهش حاضر مشخص نمودند که خدمات و کارکردهای کتابخانه­های عمومی از قبیل آموزش و پژوهش، اطلاعات و اطلاع‌رسانی، ایجاد تفریح و تفنن، برگزاری نمایشگاه، همایش و غیره و تشویق به مطالعه و تعالی بخشیدن به روح، بیش از 40 درصد بر شاخص­های توسعه اقتصادی نقش مؤثر و مثبتی دارد. همچنین اعتباریابی مدل ساختاری پژوهش با استفاده از آلفای کرونباخ، پایایی ترکیبی، روایی همگرا، دقت پیش­بینی (R²)، قدرت پیش‌بینی (Q²) و شاخص نیکویی برازش (GOF) مدل پژوهش حاضر از اعتبار مناسبی برخوردار است.
نتایج: نتایج پژوهش نشان داد که ویژگی­ها و کارکردهای کتابخانه­های عمومی در ایران این ظرفیت و توانایی را دارند که نقش مؤثر و چشمگیری در توسعه اقتصادی جامعه داشته باشند و این مهم در کشورهای توسعه‌یافته به شکل موفقی اتفاق افتاده است. بااین‌حال، بخش دیگری از نتایج پژوهش که وضعیت کنونی کتابخانه­های عمومی در کشور را موردبررسی قرار داد، نشان داد که کتابخانه­های عمومی ایران در بحث اقتصادی نسبت به بحث فرهنگ و توسعه فرهنگی جامعه مهجور مانده‌اند. می­توان گفت که عدم توجه و استفاده از ظرفیت­های کتابخانه­های عمومی در حوزه اقتصادی یکی از دلایل کمرنگ بودن نقش کتابخانه­های عمومی در توسعه اقتصادی است.
اصالت و ارزش: تاکنون پژوهش‌های بسیار اندکی با استفاده از معادلات ساختاری به بررسی تأثیر اقتصادی کتابخانه‌های عمومی در سطح جامعه پرداخته‌اند. بر مبنای این رویکرد متغیرهای تأثیرگذار بیشتری مورد بررسی قرار گرفته‌اند.

The Role of Services and Functions of Public Libraries in Economic Development: Perspectives from Librarians and Managers

چکیده [English]

Purpose: This study aimed to explore the role of services and functions provided by public libraries in the economic development of society, as perceived by librarians and library managers.
Methodology: A quantitative research design employing a survey approach was conducted. The statistical population consisted of experienced managers and librarians from public libraries across the centers of Iranian provinces. The estimated population size was 1900 individuals, with a sample size of 319 participants selected using Cochran's sampling formula. Data was collected using a researcher-developed questionnaire. Content validity and Cronbach's alpha were used to establish validity and reliability, respectively. The overall Cronbach's alpha coefficient for both the questionnaire and its components surpassed 0.80, indicating acceptable reliability. Data analysis was performed using SPSS statistical software and PLS Smart structural equations.
Findings: The results revealed that the services and functions of public libraries, including education and research, information dissemination and alerting, providing recreational activities, hosting exhibitions and conferences, and promoting study and personal growth, have an effective and positive impact on economic development indicators, with more than 40% of respondents acknowledging their importance. Furthermore, the structural model of the research exhibited good validity in terms of Cronbach's alpha, composite reliability, convergent validity, predictive accuracy (R2), predictive power (Q2), and goodness of fit index (GOF).
Conclusion: The findings indicate that the characteristics and functions of public libraries in Iran possess the capacity and capability to play a significant and influential role in economic development, as demonstrated in developed countries. However, the study also revealed that public libraries in Iran have been neglected in economic discussions compared to the emphasis on culture and societal development. The lack of attention to and utilization of the economic potential of public libraries is a contributing factor to their limited role in economic development.
Value: This research provides an innovative approach to examining the role of services and functions provided by public libraries in socioeconomic development.
